What is Ethical Porn?

Ethical what? Believe it or not, there is such a thing as ethical porn. Now, we know what you’re thinking – how can having sex on camera for money with various partners ever be considered ethical? While watching people have sex on film is fun, what goes on behind the scenes might surprise you. Keep reading and find out why everyone’s raving about the ethical-kind-of pornography.

What is Ethical Porn?

There’s no better place to start than the ‘what is ethical porn’ topic. This is also where your mindset is going to change. When you first hear the term ‘ethical porn’ you think of ethical in regards to the sex acts – missionary instead of anal and love making instead of orgies – that sort of stuff.

However, this type of porn can still have all the whips, chains, anal beads and BDSM because ethical porn is all about what goes on behind-the-scenes, as opposed to the things that make adult films 18 plus.

Ethical porn defines legal adult films that respect the performers, that has quality work conditions, and that shows and celebrates sexual diversity – to name a few.

The Problem with Mainstream Porn

If this comes to you as a surprise, chances are you haven’t familiarized yourself with what really goes on behind the scenes of mainstream porn. The industry has changed significantly over the years – and not for the better.

Tune into any pornstar documentary on Netflix and the first thing any former star will tell you is that mainstream adult films have little to no respect. No respect for the production, the performers, the conditions, etc.

Many say that when they were in the adult film business, they knew (and had a relationship) with the person they were filming with and that they genuinely enjoyed having sex with one another on film. When trying to re-enter the industry today, they found that the stars don’t even know each other and they’re just doing it for the money – and that’s the problem with the mainstream.

Adult film stars are no longer glamorized and respected for their talent and performance. Instead, they’re seen – and treated – as if they’re less than human because that’s how they’re treated on set and in films. Today, adult film stars are degraded, put in awful situations, and even worse circumstances and work conditions because they aren’t worthy of quality. If you ever saw the bloopers or behind the scenes, you’d be shocked.

Heck! Famous porn actor, James Deen, was even accused of raping a host of women. So, it makes you wonder what type of people you’re supporting.

It won’t, at least, not sexually. You can still get all the scenes, scenarios and sexual fantasies you desire when watching ethical porn. So, nothing changes there. However, you will likely have a better sexual experience knowing the people in the film are treated with respect and are doing the scene because they genuinely enjoy it. Alas, no more watching fake orgasms.

So, be aware of the pornography you watch. If it’s not ethical porn, you could be supporting something you’d be ashamed of.
